You DO have the time to exercise!

Is it possible that people who exercise regularly generally have more time in their week than people who don’t? No, I don’t believe they do. The difference is that some people MAKE the time to exercise and commit to doing so regularly. It may mean that they buy a cake rather than make one or they miss an episode of their favourite tv show, but they set their priorities so that exercise features near the top 🙂

Many people think they have “too much to do” to exercise, but there is endless research that suggests that we are much more productive when we do exercise regularly. Our concentration span is longer, our energy levels are higher and a healthier body also means that we have to spare less time for illness and seasonal bugs.

There are always other things that us exercising folk could be doing instead, but we choose not to. You get ONE body and you need this to last the entire span of a lifetime. We don’t neglect our cars or houses by way of doing no upkeep or maintenance! You can’t expect a machine to work without fault if you never strengthen it, oil the joints or make space where our body holds stress and tension.

Why mentality matters…

If you THINK that you do have time, then you will have time or you’ll strive to find it. If you wake up thinking that there isn’t enough time, then that is a self-fulfilling prophecy – the day will pass you by and you can prove yourself right even if it’s not to your own benefit. The psychology of fitness never ceases to interest me. It is not that fit people have different bodies, but that they have a different mindset.

Everything starts in your mind. BE one of those people who makes exercise happen no matter what. BE one of those people who put themselves first so they can be better for those around them. BE one of “those fit people”. Decide to be that way and everything you want for your body will happen.

Many of our clients start this process by booking their time with a Personal Trainer. This makes sure the exercise happens and then, as the habit is formed, they do more and more independently! Once you enjoy feeling fit and healthy then you cannot NOT exercise. It becomes like your need for water, air and sleep: your life cannot shine without it.

If you need help kick starting this new habit, check out our Spring Packages here 🙂 or contact us for more information.
