Tabata Training was invented by Japanese professor Dr. Izumi Tabata in the late 1990s. He used it to train olympic speed skaters! The great thing about Tabata training (apart from the obvious appeal of how brief the workout can be) is that it is accessible to everyone! What type of yoga is for YOU?

The Yoga world can be somewhat bamboozling so this blog is born out of wanting to breakdown into accessible non-yogi language, what kinds of yoga there are (this may help you if you are making decisions as to whether to try certain classes etc) and also to show why it is tricky to generalise when talking about yoga because there are so many different types, all of which offer a very different experience.

How mobile are you?!

Christmas has come and gone and, no doubt, there has been way too much food and booze intake. We’ve now reached that awkward week after the mayhem, but we’re not back into the new year’s routine just yet… still most people feel like they need to move! Country walks, gentle yoga and any games will make you feel human again! Here is one to try with the family or your friends and I warn you… it is not as easy as it looks!

30 mins Core and Arms

A quick weekend blitz for those of you wanting to work on strengthening arms and core. My legs were sore today (‘yippee!’ I hear you cry ;)) so I let them recover whilst still getting in a workout.

This workout requires nothing more than a medicine ball and a Swissball.
