Specialises in Body Conditioning, Weight Loss and Core Strengthening
My journey into Personal Training started when I developed a passion for endurance sports whilst serving in the Armed Forces. I qualified as a Personal Trainer and Massage Therapist in 2002. On qualifying, I began work for a major Health & Fitness Provider, first as a PT and then in management. After that, I took ‘the leap’ and enjoyed working for myself in a studio based out of my home, which was then in Wiltshire.
After starting a family I took time out to become the ‘Primary Carer/Stay at Home Dad’ and now with both children at school I find, I once more, have the time to share my passion for health and fitness with others.
As I have such passion for running, helping others to achieve their running goals and providing the tools for a healthy running journey comes very naturally to me!
I love to run and after completing almost 100 marathons, I now like to run a little further and have for the last few years been excited to compete in various ultramarathons in the UK, running distances between 50km and 100miles on various trails and footpaths. In the not to distant future I am hoping to complete my first 200 mile event and also compete abroad! As I have such passion for running, helping others to achieve their running goals and providing the tools for a healthy running journey comes very naturally to me! I know the struggles and I know the things that really make a difference. It is essential that your body and core is strong enough to endure the miles that you want to cover. This means less injury and more enjoyment!
My approach to training has changed significantly over the years, and particularly now that I have a family. As I look to take a more connected approach, joining the dots and connecting all aspects – Work, Family, Diet (am hugely interested in and currently exploring the topic of fat adaptation), Sleep/Circadian Rhythms and Use of Technology – and I no longer look to complete 100 plus mile weeks, often at the detriment to other aspects of life and sometimes health.
Training should never be a chore or looked at as just another box to be ticked. Instead it should have purpose and be enjoyable! In my training I like to leave clients feeling worked but not exhausted, and excited for their next session 🙂
Feel better, move better, live better.
